Why is buyer information not available in Amazon FBA orders?

Modified on Tue, 09 Apr 2024 at 12:42 PM

Starting February 19, 2024, Amazon no longer provides sellers with access to buyer information in FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) orders. Following a recent policy update, Amazon has taken on the responsibility of calculating and remitting sales tax for sellers. In North American marketplaces, Amazon has discontinued access to Restricted Data, which includes essential buyer information previously used for tax remittance.

As a result, when Amazon FBA orders are imported into M2E Multichannel Connect and your store, the buyer information will appear as "Not returned." We have taken this step to ensure that M2E Multichannel Connect can consistently create corresponding orders in your store, even when buyer information is unavailable.

Amazon's decision to handle sales tax calculation and payment is a significant help for sellers, especially with the changing tax laws. By taking care of tax-related tasks, Amazon aims to simplify the selling process and ensure sellers comply with regulations.

We are keeping an eye on any new developments or changes from Amazon or other platforms that might affect how M2E Multichannel Connect works. If anything changes in the future, we will update our application to maintain continuous and efficient sales for our customers.
